DOE Spokesfool Defends Zero-Tolerance Policy

In Staten Island, they have zero tolerance for thinking or common sense.

A fourth-grader was suspended for possessing a toy gun in school... a Lego gun less then two inches long, standard issue for a Lego police man. While the child playing Police Man was suspended, the criminal suspect -- who was wielding a Lego ax -- was not charged with any violation of school policy.

A spokesfool for the NYC Department of Education expressed her support of the "zero tolerance" policy: no toy guns in school. No doubt the bravery displayed by the teachers and principal in facing down the child and confiscating his weapon have made them superheroes in the eyes of the entire fourth grade.

Based on the picture above, I think that might even be an "assault rifle"; this kid is lucky they're letting him come back to school.

By the way, you might notice a trend here. If toy guns are the cause of the culture of violence in school, then we can fix the problem with a zero-tolerance for toy guns. If exploding underwear is the cause of danger on our airplanes, then we can fix the problem by body-scanning all passengers.

As for violent or suspicious passengers, no need to worry about them; so long as we take away their Lego and underwear, we'll all be safe.
